Research Interests
Nano-photonics
Tomoyuki Yoshie's research focuses on photonics and nanofabrication. They encompass photonic crystals, quantum optics, nonlinear optics, quantum information, optical signal processing, optical signal generation and energy conversion. His approach is to invent tools of fabricating nano-structures, to design devices with the aid of theory and computational modeling and to implement integration of photonic components. His current effort is to answer fundamental questions regarding storing light in small volumes and construct nano-optical systems.
